Float the Undiscovered French Broad!

The French Broad River is well-known as one of the oldest and prettiest rivers in the world. And it's a busy river too, with paddlers, fishing enthusiasts, tubers and more on every stretch of the river through North Carolina.

But the stretch of the French Broad through Henderson County between Brevard and Asheville remains largely undiscovered. Not for lack of beauty or wildlife - on the contrary, our piece of the river has more than its share of both. Rather, it's been a lack of opportunity. With limited access points in the county, for years it was just too hard for most people to get into and out of the river in order to enjoy and appreciate it.

That's all changed now, and only for the better. Thanks to efforts by many community partners, Henderson County now has some of the best and most convenient river access in the area. And Lazy Otter Outfitters makes it easy for everyone to get on the water and have fun!

While we want more people to be able to enjoy our stretch of the French Broad, we also want to help preserve its beauty and peacefulness. That's why we help to organize river clean-ups and never overcrowd the Horse Shoe Bend with tubers.

Lazy Otter Outfitters is proud to serve our neighbors in western North Carolina, and show off Henderson County's French Broad River to visitors from around the world!
